Not A Care In The World

So this morning, while enjoying a cup of coffee and scrolling through Facebook, I came across this article. The article discussed how much time people spend worrying about what others think of their wedding, and how, pardon my french, she didn’t “give a f’k” about what anyone thought of hers. Let me just say…LOVE IT! I can completely resonate with this! Article Linked Here:ย I Don’t Careย <–

Although we didn’t “officially” get engaged until the end of May, we booked our wedding on Easter. Before that we had a really long conversation on what we both envisioned our wedding day to be like. My fiance and I both agreed we wanted something fun, carefree, and low-key. We stood up in our friends wedding about a year ago, and it was absolutely beautiful, but the thought of months of planning/invitations/and standing up in front of 200 people made us both nauseated. A wedding should be what YOU want, not what you want for your guests.

Conveniently, we already had a Caribbean cruise booked for January of 2016, so after searching around I found a company called Island Bliss Weddings located in St. Thomas. They offer a bunch of different packages to choose from. We literally just picked a package, set the date, and that’s it! We couldn’t have envisioned a better plan. Conveniently, St. Thomas is our first stop on the cruise, so the rest of the week is our tropical paradise honeymoon in St. Kitts, Aruba, and Curacao ๐Ÿ™‚

The best part is, we only have our parents attending. No crowd, no 200 people, no pressure! We expected some backlash when we announced this, but to our surprise it was only positive wishes! We are both so happy we adopted the “I don’t care what anyone thinks” attitude about our wedding because 1. we are only doing this once, and 2. your wedding should be only what you want!

  1. Couldn’t agree more!

It’s wonderful how you two have this all planned out. Honestly, I believe the ‘traditional’ American wedding is way overdone.

Of course that’s up to the couple but considering the economy for one, a simple, small wedding is a great choice.

Dishing on myself and my wife Rebekah – our wedding was both our third so we chose a courthouse wedding via the Magistrate. Our families approved… ๐Ÿ™‚

Wishing you both long life together!
