Iron Works Tavern: Warwick, Rhode Island.

Today I left the Midwest and headed out to the East Coast! The flight was very quick (1.5 hours) and as soon as we arrived I met my cousin for the first time.

Of course a celebration toast was necessary šŸ™‚

We had a fabulous dinner at the Iron Works Tavern. Located in Warwick, Rhode Island, the building used to be a Malleable Iron Works factory office that was built in 1867. They even kept quite a few things that are original to the building, which added so much character.

The LemonĀ MeringueĀ Martini was out of this world!

Our first appetizer was the beets topped with a chocolate balsamic sauce, truffle oil, goat cheese and walnuts. MMM!

Next we had the freshly made chips with homemade french onion dipping sauce.

And for the main course I went with a chicken Gorgonzola pasta with mushrooms, spinach, and sun dried tomatoes. Absolutely fantastic!

This restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere and the food is over the top. The staff made us all feel very welcome and we had an enjoyable evening! My only wish is that I could have had a longer trip so I could re-visit and try more of their wonderful food & cocktails!
