St. Croix was our first stop on a Caribbean cruise we took back in January and it sure was a start to a wonderful trip. The cruise port in St. Croix is located in Frederiksted. There is plenty to do in and around the city so an excursion was not necessary for us that day.
We instantly fell in love with the city and all of the beautifully colored buildings! The atmosphere of the entire place was very uplifting. Everyone is smiling and there is live music playing in the streets.
For Frederik was very interesting to tour. It was only $3 per person and you can either follow a guided tour or explore on your own, which is what we did. The fort was built in 1760 and has a room full of artifacts to see.
Can’t forget those gorgeous tropical flowers all over the place!
Strolling along the white sand beach next to the fort was so relaxing and refreshing.
We then met up with the rest of our family and headed onward to the 3 mile walk to Rhythms at Rainbow Beach. This place has it ALL. Music, private beach and delicious food & drinks.
Be careful with that rum punch though, or you may end up like we did….. 🙂
