Travel Thursday: Universal Studios Orlando

Universal Studios is located in Orlando, Florida, and it one of the most fun theme parks I have visited. There is so much to do and see! Even if you aren’t so much into rides, there is plenty to enjoy 🙂

It is split into two parks: Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. I must say that I prefer Islands of Adventure a bit more, but both are very entertaining. A day pass for admission to both parks is roughly $150. They offer discounts if you are purchasing more than one days worth of passes as well as resort packages.

The amount of work that went into making this theme park as amazing as it is must be astronomical! Little details can be seen all over. You can experience many rides based off of movies/comics such as Spiderman, Transformers, Minions, Harry Potter and many many more.

1. Harry Potter

I cannot stress enough how spectacular Harry Potter is! All of the amazing little details really makes you feel like you are taking a stroll through Hogwarts. When I visited, I was just a few weeks to early to see the opening of Diagon Alley (booo), but I do plan on returning eventually to see it. I absolutely loved the “Forbidden Journey” ride and all of its neat special effects. While you’re here, don’t forget to try out a Butterbeer!

2. Jurassic Park

I am a huge fan of the Jurassic Park series, and they did a fantastic job re-creating the scenery and atmosphere. It is almost like you are in a real jungle. The Jurassic World river adventure is a suspenseful journey leading up to almost being “eaten” by the mean ol’ T-Rex.

3. The Simpsons

Such a neat experience to see such a classic TV show come to life. All of the iconic locations on this show can be shopped and there is an awesome roller coaster simulator.

Hope you all get to experience the fun that Universal has to offer! What are some of your favorite theme parks?

My good friends and I, May 2014.

      1. you would not be disappointed – great food, great staff and rides that are older but look new. I was there in 1968 at 8 years old, still remember some of the rides from then.
